Week 4: Sharing is Caring
For Monday (9.22):
- Type up your first autoethnography story based on the prompt distributed in class.
- Bring a hard copy to class to share in the story circles session.
- Review details of Story Circle Protocol posted on Canvas.
Monday, 22 September
Today we build on conversations from last week by discussing potential disciplinary approaches to studying Cultural Studies and American Studies. We take a moment to discuss our reading on “America,” briefly cover details on the Keywords Project, and then turn to our first story circle session. Have copies of your story on paper in class, and be ready to share.
For Monday (9.29):
- Read Keywords for American Cultural Studies: “Culture” (pdf), & “Empire”
- Post two agenda items on Canvas by 5pm
